Mice and cupcakes

It's been a few weeks since my last posting. That's because I've been fullfilling all my orders. One in particular was quite a feat, 200 mice to be exact. I don't have any pictures of the little chaps as they are going to be used as a logo for a new company which is being developed. They are now safely at their new home.
I also had some cupcake orders to complete, and they too are now finished and delivered. I'm still on cupcakes, and my new designs are still to be made. However I have just put these in the shop....

along with these....

....I have a few other projects on the go, but as is always the case, time is never on my side. I'm sure that everyone feels the same!
One of my projects is this love little wooden box....

It was given to me a while ago. I have sanded it all down, it just needs one more sand with some fine sand paper and I'm going to paint it. I've been looking through one of my books at some of the finishes....

I have done quite a few pieces of furniture and pots etc before, but I'm not quite sure on the finish on this piece. I quite like this finish....

....and i also like this too...

...I have loads of paints, all I have to do is make a choice! The hardest part I think!!!
With a new baby due to be born into the family in September I have baby projects to think of too. But more of those later.There's also the gardening to do, I love being in the garden, I have seeds to sew and plants to put in. There's always plenty to do here, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Cupcakes, strawberries and chocolate!!!!

Well, here are a couple of pictures of my new cupcakes, at long last! I'd hoped, by now, that I would have at least three to show you, but I have been fulfilling orders so I've had to delay for a short while.
Anyway, strawberries and chocolate, here we go...

....this idea came from some real ones which I made last year. I try to knit what I see (and eat) if you know what I mean.
I thought 'd make them all slightly different. The first two are in chocolate cases...

... with two different toppings, one with a strawberry (just as it comes) the other with a milk chocolate dippping on it.
The second two are in springtime colour cases....


each with lashings of toppings and finished with a strawberry, one "as it comes" and the other with a dark chocolate dipping on it.
It's a good job they're not real as I don't think they would have lasted very long!!!!!
I have also been making more of these....

.... but only ordered ones at the moment.
I'm still working on my greetings cards, now I have a new laptop (which I have to say is taking me a while to get used to)my graphics programme runs much faster. Sadly I'm not "running" along with it! Maybe I will when I get used to it!!
There's a lot of mice in the house at the moment. Not real ones I'm glad to say, it's a special order but I have to keep that under wraps for now.
Hopefully it won't be long until I can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Roll on spring, it's almost here. Happy crafting everyone!

Cupcakes and more.

The plan was, to have my new designs out. But I've been quite busy of late with fulfilling orders. The cold virus I had for the last three weeks didn't help much either. I was playing catch up with myself, or trying to.

I have sourced some beautiful new springtime shades, and these will feature in my mice selection and cupcakes. But at the moment I have another order to fulfill, which hopefully I will be able to show, when they are all complete.
I'm still working on new designs, but they are still " on the drawing board" so to speak. I'm also hoping to get the greetings cards on sale shortly.
At least all this food is calorie free!

Springing forward.

Now all the Christmas and New Years' rush is over, we can all turn our thoughts to warmer days and lighter nights. I don't know about you, but I can't wait until it's time to eat alfresco again!
With this in mind I've been thinking of these ice cream sundaes which I made last year..

... chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, and don't forget, all calorie free!

..... I have many more planned for this year, and there's also going to be a lot more of these......

and these.....in many varieties.

...... but for the moment I'm still on the afternoon sweet treats like these...

..... It's a good job I can't eat them...

.... although baking real cakes is one of my passions. Here's a family favourite...

..... but on to the non edible kind. I am currently making cupcakes, and there will be more variations, once I've completed my current orders. In the meantime I have just listed some more of these, in different colourways....

... and the rose topped ones will be available shortly, and another variation too.
We shall be taking a visit here shortly. A nice little treat for the eye and stomach!!! And I always come back with loads of ideas and inspriration. Watch this space!!!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone. I know it's a little late but it's taken me a while to catch up with everything. The house is back to normal and the house guests have returned home, now it's back to normal.
I've managed to make some of these....

....and there are more on the way.
I've done very little in the way of knitting or anything in the last four weeks. My room needs a good sort out and a spring clean. There are lots of family birthdays coming up in the next few months, so card making is still on the agenda.
I'm hoping to get my new designs ready in the next couple of weeks too.
There are some sets of the mixed tarts selection for sale, and there will be more mice sets coming up this week too.
I've managed so source some new colours too.

Christmas post..

This is my last post before the holidays. The family are all gathering in a couple of days and I have the usual housework to do, but I also have Christmas cards to write and post (by hand). I haven't started my Christmas baking yet, that's on the agenda for Wednesday, and the presents are still waiting to be wrapped. It'll all be finished in time, I'm sure.

I have also been working on some more mice sets and mixed tarts in another selection.
I did manage to finish all my Christmas cards, here's a quick look...

.... not the best of photos, the weather was so dull and dreary when I took them....

.... I used inks and chalks in the most subtle of colours, a change from what I normally do, some of my favourite rubber stamps, and not to forget some wonderful words from the Bard himself, thank you, kind sir!......


My Folksy shop is now closed until after the holidays, and I have just three items left for sale on Ebay.

Spring flower cupcakes!

I now have some new pretty flower topped cupcakes available, and here they are....

.... yes I know we're in the "depths" of winter, especially with all this snow, but I have all these beautiful pastel coloured yarns and it's so easy to veer off from all the Christmas colours which I've been using just lately. All my Christmas orders have been finished, unless I receive any more, I can now make a start on my new designs.
I have cupcakes of the real kind to make now, the oven is on ready, the ingredients are out. What a lovely way to spend a freezing afternoon in December. I wouldn't change it for anything!
