Christmas post..

This is my last post before the holidays. The family are all gathering in a couple of days and I have the usual housework to do, but I also have Christmas cards to write and post (by hand). I haven't started my Christmas baking yet, that's on the agenda for Wednesday, and the presents are still waiting to be wrapped. It'll all be finished in time, I'm sure.
These are some more new cupcakes which I've been working on...

..... these are now available in my Ebay shop.
I've also made these.......

...... they are sold, I'm afraid, but there will be more soon, and some more new designs.
I have also been working on some more mice sets and mixed tarts in another selection.
I did manage to finish all my Christmas cards, here's a quick look...

.... not the best of photos, the weather was so dull and dreary when I took them....

.... I used inks and chalks in the most subtle of colours, a change from what I normally do, some of my favourite rubber stamps, and not to forget some wonderful words from the Bard himself, thank you, kind sir!......

My Folksy shop is now closed until after the holidays, and I have just three items left for sale on Ebay.
Do have a lovely holiday, and as William Shakespeare said....

Merry Christmas xx

Spring flower cupcakes!

I now have some new pretty flower topped cupcakes available, and here they are....

.... yes I know we're in the "depths" of winter, especially with all this snow, but I have all these beautiful pastel coloured yarns and it's so easy to veer off from all the Christmas colours which I've been using just lately. All my Christmas orders have been finished, unless I receive any more, I can now make a start on my new designs.
I have cupcakes of the real kind to make now, the oven is on ready, the ingredients are out. What a lovely way to spend a freezing afternoon in December. I wouldn't change it for anything!

Of mice and men!!

Well, as the title suggests, these are the things which have been on my agenda this last week. I have been working on a couple of designs for gingerbread men, in fact a whole family. But as I've been so busy with other things they haven't reached my shop. So I decided to make a festive mix with just the few that I had made. (The rest of the little chaps are tucked away, unfinished in a box!)
So here's my festive mix....

.... as time has not been on my side, (as always) I combined two mince pies, one festive bakewell and my little gingerbread man!
The mice selection has been updated too. I have had requests to do a mix of "fondant" and "chocolate", so I now do a set of four like this.....

...... and for chocolate cupcake lovers everywhere.......

.... a real one would be nice too!!
As for my Christmas cards, well usually all my cards are different. But as I've been doing other things, (plus the fact that I didn't start making them until yesterday) I have used three designs and a two colour palette, and a bit of help from William Shakespeare. You'll get the idea when I put the pictures on my blog.
Now I'm off to make burgers, and hotdogs, knitted of course!

Tasty treats, sweet and savoury.

I've been making quite a few savoury treats just lately, as well as cupcakes.
The bigger burger is going great....

.... this is the full size one. There' been more hot dogs too..

...these are full size too.
I have a new strawberry trifle...

...and more of these....

.....

.....

......and of course these....

I've just added these festive cupcakes too....

.....there will be more, if I can get them made in time!!!

I'm still working on new designs, but they won't be in the shop until December at the earliest, as I have orders to fulfill. I also have to make a start on my Christmas cards. It's all out ready on my desk, I just have to make them, before Christmas arrives!!!!

Cupcakes and mince pies, and not a Christmas card in sight!!!!

Well all my packs of mixed tarts have all gone, so now I'll be making another selection. I have a few ideas which I'm playing with at the moment, but I'll have to keep them under wraps until they're exactly what I want.
I've just finished these......

..... and they're now on sale, and so are these.....

..... I've still got a couple of orders to finish and then hopefully I shall start making my Christmas cards. I know there's a lot of people out there who have theirs all done and dusted. I'm at the stage where I know which set of stamps I'm going to use, and what my colour theme is going to be. Maybe this weekend I'll get one or two done, who knows!!!

The last of my Halloween cupcakes are finished and are now for sale. I've been busy fulfilling a few orders so I haven't had time to make as many as I was going to. I've made a few notes in my book, (just so that I don't forget) of a few different designs, but that's for next year, hopefully!!
Here's picture of the last batch.....

.....
I've now moved on to these.......

.... the first few sets have gone, but I have just listed one more set, with more on the way.
With Christmas approaching us quite quickly I have several projects to make for the family. I'd better get myself organised!

The staff of life!!!!

A lovely lady called Roxanne contacted me. She lives in beautiful Dorset. She asked me if I could knit a loaf of bread for her. But not any ordinary loaf of bread, a special one. One that everyone knows and can remember.
This to be exact.....

I knew I'd be able to make one, I just had to do a test pattern first. I always do a test, I call it my "grey", knitting in grey yarn. That way, I can see if I need to make any adjustments to the shapings, or design.

Well here's my finished loaf......

My aim with my knitting is to make what I see. I hope I've done the loaf justice.
It was a pleasure to make this and I hope Roxanne will be very happy with it.
Thank you Roxanne!

A quick update!

This is just a brief update. I have a new selection of mixed tarts......

........and they seem to be going like " hot cakes". There's more in the cupcake range.....plain...

.....and chocolate......

and there's more "spookies" for Halloween....

..... With the "big" season almost on us, there'll be quite a few things for then. But in the meantime, I'm off to make some "real" cakes for the forthcoming wedding, and there's going to be some cakepops too, for both young and old! Watch this space!!!!!

Using my Loaf!

Wherever I go or whatever I do, I always find something that gets the "grey matter" on overdrive. This time it was a trip to the bakery. We were out on a day trip and fancied a "snack" ( like you do!) and we went into a beautiful bakery with the gorgeous loaves etc on diplay. The sight and smells were just wonderful!
But the trouble with me, is that I don't just eat what I love, I want to recreate it, but in a different form. You know where this is going, I know...
Whilst sitting eating a beautiful fresh baked roll with a salad filling, my mind was wandering onto my knitting and where it would take me. This is what it led to.....

...... the thing is, this will lead to other things I know. It was strange because I had an email from a lovely lady who had bought some of my tarts and strawberries, and she asked me if I was going to make any baguettes, and at the time I was just on the verge of finishing the first set. Well they were snapped up, and now I'm working on my "tests" for some more.
The other thing I've been working on is these....

.... and that gorgeous fabric underneath is for another project. Sewing machine "at the ready" when I can take a break from knitting! But the real baking has to take over tomorrow, as our neigbour has just bought me a large bag of cooking apples and a huge basket of blackberries. Apple and blackberry pie anyone?

Cupcakes, and more!

Well my little hands have been so busy of late, and they are trying desperately to keep up with my thoughts. I have so many ideas swimmimg around in my head that keeping a note of them is vital, or else I'll forget!
To whet your appetite, here are a few of my latest designs.....
.....a selection of mixed tarts....

..........individual slices of cake.....

......large pieces of course!
More burgers.....

...this time, full size.
I also now have a selection of cupcakes....

............

...... and chocolate ones too!

........ These are all sold so I'm busily knitting more.
Our son is in the process of building my website, and I've been playing with table settings for my banner...

.... but I only had a few things to play with, to try to get the effect I wanted...

.... so I'll have to knit faster! Maybe I'll take it all outside in the garden and lay it all on one of my vintage tablecloths. Decisions, decisions.
I have a few design ideas to knit from a sketch this evening, and maybe I'll get to knitting a trial piece or two. Here's hoping!

Calorie free yummies!!!

I never meant to leave it so long before I posted on here again. But things have been so hectic for the last few weeks, and they're expected to remain so as we have an up and coming wedding in September! But here we are, at last!
Firstly I've been doing more "hotdogs", this time they've been topped with "daddies" sauce (our son's favourite!).... (they're going like "hot cakes", sorry about the pun!)

and I'm currently making some bigger, and smaller ones, but they're for later!
My patisserie range is growing even bigger and I'm now adding some more tasty goodies
..... still with strawberries, but they are "flavour of the month!"
.......

sets of three desserts, one set were sold to a lady who's using them for a wedding day display.
I've also done other varieties....banana and chocolate....

.....peach and chocolate.....

.....and more strawberry cream and chocolate....

....... I have a lot more ideas, some have already been made and sold and I'm also trying some out on the family,

......

... I'm doing a cherry range now too!
For the "Magnum" lovers out there I have some new chocolate ices....

....dark, milk or almond, yummy! and there's also these.....

banana, strawberry and chocolate lime, ...full size too! These can be bought separately or a pack of three.

But of other things now, and this is what I made for our 4th Grand daughters Christening..

Knitted in Sirdar Snuggly, a pair of MaryJanes, beaded with glass beads and finished off with some vintage glass buttons, then I popped them into this....

..... all I have to do now is think of something for our next grand daughters Christening!!!!
I have listed a few of my items in my Folksy shop, but I can be contacted by email.
Now it's back to my little "patisserie".... bye for now.
